VIDEO: How many iPhones does it take to stop a bullet?
A YouTube user known as EverythingApplePro tested how many iPhones it took to stop an AK-74 bullet fired at close range.
This weapon can fire bullets that leave the muzzle at up to 2,900 feet per second. Just to make the experiment more challenging for the shield of iPhones, the ammunition has some light armour-piercing capabilities.
He puts the devices to the test a couple of times. His first shot actually hits the wooden frame during its trajectory, slowing it down a little. His second shot is straight and true through the centre. Finally, he tops the video off with a shotgun blast.
We wouldn’t recommend using iPhones as body armour. And just in case it needs to be said, don’t try this experiment at home.
