You can now add your own thoughts and quips to quoted tweets on Android. Twitter has revamped its Quote Tweet feature to let you add commentary from today.

You can type out 116 additional characters, which appear alongside the original tweet. Rather than simply adding text, the feature embeds the intended tweet within the message. If you want to test out the feature for yourself, press the Retweet button and select ‘Quote Tweet’.The feature was added for web and iOS users last week. Now, Android users can join in the fun of adding their own commentary.Twitter’s support page details the following steps for commenting on a quoted tweet:From mobile apps:

  • Tap the Retweet icon.
  • Tap Quote Tweet.
  • Add a comment and tap Tweet.
  • The Tweet will then be shared with your followers as a quoted Tweet!
From Web:
  • Hover over a Tweet.
  • Click the Retweet icon.
  • A pop-up will show you the Tweet and a comment box.
  • Type your own comments in the Add a comment field.
  • Click the Tweet button.
  • The Tweet will then be shared with your followers as a quoted Tweet!
