Take VR photos with Cardboard Camera

Virtual Reality is pretty much here, and it's looking increasingly likely that 2016 will be the year when people will finally start to get their hands on the proper headsets.

Take VR photos with Cardboard Camera

But you can get a glimpse of the future right now with services like Google Cardboard. It's a really cheap headset which lets you use your phone to get involved with early virtual reality experiences, many presented by Google. And it's supposed to be pretty neat, if a little limited in terms of content.

Thankfully that's about to change with the release of a new Cardboard Camera app for Android. This new software lets you take Virtual Reality photos - this starts with the concept of a panorama photo like the ones you can already take, capturing a 360 degree view of what's going on but also adds the idea of depth, of things looking close or far away and more or less blurred depending on distance. Cardboard camera will also capture sound, so you can get a full idea of what it was like when you were really there.
