Samsung unveils mammoth 18.4-inch tablet

Samsung has announced the Galaxy View tablet, which it is calling the “largest Android mobile device on the market.” That comes as no surprise as the Galaxy View features an 18.4-inch full HD screen with a pixel resolution of 1920 x 1080.

The tablet is powered by a 1.6GHz octa-core processor paired with 2GB RAM. It includes 32GB or 64GB internal storage, though there is a microSD card slot for expandable memory. The Galaxy View also features a 2.1 MP front facing camera and a 5,700mAh battery that offers around eight hours of video playback.

This isn’t a device that you’ll be porting around. The Galaxy View clocks in at 451.8x275.8x11.9mm and weighs 2.65kg.

There’s a custom home screen that features entertainment apps like Netflix, Hulu, AOL, HBO Go, and YouTube. Swiping to the next screen shows the usual Android home screen, complete with folders and apps.

Samsung hasn’t priced the tablet, though the Galaxy View was spotted on an e-commerce US website Adorama for $599.
