HTC One A9 specs leak
It seems like no major smartphone can release these days without pretty significant leaks along the way. That must be frustrating for the manufacturers trying to keep a lid on their exciting new devices, but it's great for us to get an early glimpse at what's coming to market soon.
Today's leak has to do with the HTC One A9, with the pricing and specs of the handset being accidentally revealed by Orange in France. HTC will be unveiling the details officially on the 20th of October so it's not that early a leak.
In terms of details, it sounds like the phone will feature a 5 inch 1080p display, a 13MP rear camera, 4MP Ultra-pixel front camera and will be HTC's first to include Android Marshmallow 6.0. Inside there's 16 gigs of storage (happily expandable with microSD), 2 gigs of RAM and a fairly weedy 2150 mAh battery. It's all pretty standard in the current industry, with no standout features. The design has been leaked previously, with metal accents and a profile which is quite similar to the iPhone.
As for pricing, we're heraing the A9 could run to €599. That sounds like a lot for fairly middling specs, without an especially high resolution screen and with a standard camera and internals. Maybe the processor is especially high powered but even with that the price feels misjudged. In a world where OnePlus, Motorola and more are delivering high specs at low cost, you need something more to justify shelling out at that level.
