Facebook Messenger making it easier to forward photos to friends

Facebook users on mobile have had the option to forward a photo to friends via the Messenger app for some time. That capability is now being added to the web version of Facebook.

Forwarding a message is quite simple. Simply click on a photo in a message thread that was either sent by you or a friend and a Forward option appears next to the Download option on the enlarged image.

A notification bubble saying, “Send this image to other people in separate messages,” may also pop up.

If you select forward, Facebook seems to select a random selection of 20 friends. We doubt Facebook will get your chosen recipients right every time, but thankfully it’s possible to take matters into your own hands.

You can select one of the recommended friends, some of them, or search for a friend or group to send the photo to.

Facebook appears to be rolling this feature out to users steadily. Forwarding photos may not be the most common way to share them, but it’s always good to have options.
