Apple Watch 2 could be the thinnest smartwatch yet

While Apple is yet to announce anything about the launch of its upcoming products, rumours are circulating that the Apple Watch 2 and iPhone 7 will be released simultaneously.

KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that the new iPhone and the upgraded Apple Watch will be released in September. Other reports outline what these improvements could entail.

A report from Master Herald suggests that the Apple Watch 2 could be 20-40% thinner than its predecessor. Consumers have been requesting an improved battery life, which Canalys head of research Daniel Matte believes that Apple can make a reality.

“It would be great if Apple could utilize Samsung Foundry’s 14FF process to manufacture the chipsets in the Apple Watch 2,” he said, as reported by Wareable. “It’s already using them with the iPhone, and it would provide major benefits for energy efficiency, which would impact performance and battery life.”
