These TV shows aren't coming back

It’s October, which means a new TV season recently kicked off in the States, heralding the arrival of a slew of new shows that just want to be liked and hopefully not cancelled before they get a chance to really prove themselves.

Those shows are new and shiny, but what about the ones that have fallen by the wayside, with a few recently thrown into the recycle bin. Here’s a list of what’s definitely not coming back this year or likely ever again.

Hannibal - one of the best things on TV is gone. Talks continue to revive it but that’s not actually going to happen. Sadly.

Dominion - this Syfy show was a fairly entertaining demon vs angel thing. Now it’s gone too.

Extant - Halle Berry in space had nice tech specs but a surprisingly boring actual plotline. It will bore no more.

Under the Dome - Stephen King adaptation about folks trapped in a giant fishbowl. We got few answers, now we never will.

Lilyhammer - you may have chanced upon this mob drama thing on Netflix, well its over after three seasons.

State of Affairs - with Katherine Heigl and Joe Carnahan at the helm, we were expecting good things. Whoops.

Revenge - remember when this was THE thing to watch? Well things got silly and season four was the last gasp.

The Mindy Project - gone from Fox but set to return to streaming service Hulu. So that’s some good news.

Forever - Ioan Gruffudd was an immortal doctor but ABC still managed to cut him somehow.

The Following - Kevin Bacon’s really violent serial killer series lost too much blood to make it past season 3.

Constantine - another supernatural show gone before its time, the character will be cameoing elsewhere though.

About a Boy - a weird attempt to make a TV show of the Hugh Grant movie stuttered after two seasons. So many, now gone. And there were even more, with an exhaustive list from the good folks at Variety over here. Some are deservedly gone, others never had a real shot at defining themselves before they were given the boot. Just take note if you start to enjoy any of these on your local channel, some might end without any kind of satisfying conclusion!
