The IFI Player will bring Ireland's film heritage to life

The Irish Film Institute has revealed some details of their new project, the IFI Player.

The IFI Player will bring Ireland's film heritage to life

This initiative will give users access to never before seen footage and materials from the Irish Film Archive, including some of the oldest films recorded in the country, home movies, advertisements and documentaries.

Here's a look at what will be on offer.

For the first time in Ireland, this material will be available to view via streaming video. Rather than having to travel to the Archive in Dublin, that means instant access no matter where you are on deskop, with apps for Android and iOS also planned.

There's no confirmed release date for the IFI Player but we hope to have more information soon. Keep up to date with all things IFI over here.
