The film charts the life of performer Rory O'Neill, and his inspiring journey from a small town in Ireland to the world stage. And it's already earning rave reviews around the country, with the Irish Times calling it 'essential viewing.' The film goes on general release on the 23rd of October 2015, but you can see it earlier than that, and with a live interview featuring Panti as well!

On the 21st of October, the film premieres at the Light House Cinema in Dublin with a live Q&A hosted by Brendan Courtney with Rory O'Neill, Anthony Cotton, Pauline McLynn and Katherine Lynch.

If you can't make it to the Light House, the interview will also be beamed around Ireland to many locations, following on from the premiere of the film. Here's the most excellent trailer.

The film is directed by Conor Horgan (One Hundred Mornings) and features interviews with many contributors including David Norris, Una Mullaly and Mark O'Halloran.

Check out the official site for details on the live premiere screenings and more information.

The Queen of Ireland is in cinemas on the 23rd of October 2015.
