Kingsman 2 coming in 2017

Kingman The Secret Service was a surprise hit on its release in 2015 and that means there's a sequel already in the works

Kingsman 2 coming in 2017

We thought Kingsman the Secret Service was great fun when it arrived in cinemas earlier in 2015, which is why we were disappointed when the initial box office was quite low. Thankfully the later release in the US was a different story, with the film eventually earning over $400 million worldwide.

That kicked sequel rumours into high gear and now we have official confirmation - Kingsman 2 is coming in 2017.

The film will be coming out (in American at least) in June 2017 and will continue the story of Eggsy (played by Taron Egerton) who will now be a fully fledged member of the Kingsman. We've heard before that Colin Firth could be back and it's reasonable to assume that there will be some other familar faces. Except the ones who are dead, though creator Mark Millar has said that's not really an issue...

Original director Matthew Vaughn has previously said he's working on the script and that no doubt continues. He hasn't yet confirmed that he'll direct but we really hope he does- his high octane style is a big part of the appeal of the first film.

For now, check out Kingsman on home video, so long as you don't mind scenes of horrific violence.
