Brendan Gleeson and Jeremy Irons join Assassin's Creed cast
They join the already cast Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard. Deadline is reporting that Gleeson will play the father of Fassbender, while Irons will father Cotillard.
Justin Kurzel, who recently worked with both Fassbender and Cotillard on Macbeth, will direct the film.
It's a pretty impressive cast and Kurzel's acclaim is on the rise. Then again, the franchise has sold around 91 million copies, so it's understandable that the powers that be would like to give this avid fanbase some reassurance that it won't be another typical video game movie conversion.
The Assassin's Creed film is due in cinemas in December, 2016.
