The Witcher creator Andrzej Sapkowski talks games movies and sequels
They come from Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski and the first mention of the character of Geralt came from 1990s Wiedzmin (somewhat loosely translated as The Witcher). Several short story collections and books followed and there was even a 2001 film which was re-released as a 2002 TV series... which no one really liked. With the game now out, Early Access Gamer popped along to a public interview with Sapkowski where he naturally got quizzed about the appearance of his characters in other media. For the most part, it seems like he doesn't have any involvement with the way CD Project RED goes about adapting his property, but doesn't seem to mind at all. There's also mention of a new movie adaptation of The Witcher and the author can only say that he's not involved, which was the case for the previous film and TV versions. He doesn't seem massively happy about this.Watch the comments from Sapkowski here, and make sure you've got subs on unless you're fluent in Polish.
