Gears of War 4 will have microtransactions
It has been confirmed that the new game in the Gears series will come with microtransactions, that feature no one likes where you can pay extra money to get better at games. In this case, developers The Coalition have said that the Gears content will only cosmetic items, no pay to win here.
Players will be able to purchase card packs which will unlock new skins and looks for the character and their weapons. It's also important to note that everything you can pay for can also be unlocked through play, it just takes a good bit longer.
You'll earn in game credits which can also be used against crate purchases, and it's all about engaging the player in a different way and giving them the tiny joy of potential earning a random item that they really love.
Gears of War 4 is on Xbox One in October 2016.
