For Honor alpha coming- get into it here

Fresh from major airings at E3 and Gamescom, Ubisoft's For Honor is shaping up to be one of the most interesting action games of 2017.

It's about a fictional world where ancient warriors clash, and you get to play as the hero. You'll take to the battlefields and throw down against scores of minor enemies before squaring up to other human controlled foes who are much more powerful. These fights are looking pretty darn deadly.

Now the game is getting ready for a closed alpha test from the 15th to the 18th of September. This is a way to get an idea of how it handles under the load of many players, and it's an invite only system at the moment.

There are still places left on Xbox One and PS4, and you can submit your interest over here. You'll be able to play as six Heroes- Kensei, Orochi, Warden, Raider, Conquerer and Berserker - each with their own skills.

Naturally they all look really badass but the Viking folks are our favourites so far.

The full game is out in February, 2017.
