ESRB listing outs Resident Evil 7 details

Capcom has been reluctant to share too much about Resident Evil 7, but an ESRB listing may have spilled the beans.

There are spoilers ahead, so if you'd prefer to find out in due course as Capcom reveals information, you'd best steer clear of the below.

Resident Evil 7, according to the ESRB listing, stars a character called Ethan. He is searching for his missing wife in a derelict mansion.

The listing says that players will explore the environment from a first-person perspective. To date, Capcom has kept the details of combat under wraps with mentions made to an attack button. However, the listing indicates that the game will feature pistols, shotguns, flamethrowers, explosives and chainsaws.

It's also mentioned that the dialogue will contain some swearing and some pretty grisly cutscenes, including a few where characters lose limbs and one where a character is impaled through the face with a shovel.
