Jamie Vardy wants future sorted before leaving for Euro 2016

The Gunners have agreed a fee with Premier League champions Leicester, and are waiting for Vardy’s agreement to sign.
Gunners striker Olivier Giroud yesterday claimed he has been told Vardy wants to join Arsenal.
“I have been told that Jamie wants to join us and it’s very good news for us. I think we can be complementary and that’s all I can say.
“He’s a fantastic player, so it’s good news for us.”
He added: “As I said in the past I am happy with competition.
“We have always had fantastic strikers at Arsenal and I want the best for this club.
“Hopefully he is going to help us win this title.
“The boss wanted to sign at least one or two strikers, so I expected a top striker and I think it will benefit the club and hopefully he is going to score a lot of goals like he did at Leicester.”
Meanwhile, Eden Hazard has ruled out a summer move to Paris Saint-Germain and confirmed his intention to stay at Chelsea.
Hazard, who will captain Belgium at Euro 2016 in the absence of Vincent Kompany, has continuously been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge and has been a long-term target of French champions PSG.
But Hazard insists his future is at Chelsea and says he is determined to rediscover his best form next season when new manager Antonio Conte takes charge.
“PSG are not part of my plans,” the 25-year-old said. “I have a contract until 2020, I feel good here and I don’t want to finish on a season like that.
“I left Lille as a boss, and I’d like to leave Chelsea as a boss, if I do leave one day. But for the time being I’m here.
“Everyone knows that in a career there are highs and lows. For the time being, touch wood, I’ve only experienced the highs — except for this season, when it wasn’t quite as good.
“But it was meant to happen this season. I hope it doesn’t happen again next season.”
Bayern Munich are not going to listen to any offers for Robert Lewandowski this summer, according to the man who oversees their transfer activity.
The Poland striker has been linked with a move to Real Madrid or the Premier League having netted 30 goals in the Bundesliga last term.
He is just one of the stars clubs will have their eyes on at Euro 2016, but Bayern’s technical director Michael Reschke says they would all be wasting their time making an approach for the 27-year-old.
“He’s going to be playing for Bayern Munich again next season, there’s absolutely no doubt about it,” Reschke said.
“He still has three years on his contract here and we know that we have the best striker in the world in our squad.
“That is why there is no chance that he will be sold.”
Bayern have been linked with a move for Napoli’s Gonzalo Higuain in the event of Lewandowski moving on, but Reschke’s rejection of the latter also rules out the former.
“Gonzalo Higuain is one of the three or four best strikers in the world, but we’ve got the very best right now with Lewandowski,” he said.
“That is why it makes no sense for us or for the player to sign another striker.”
Meanwhile, Portugal defender Ricardo Carvalho has backed his former club boss Jose Mourinho to lead Manchester United to the Premier League title.
Carvalho, who currently plays for Monaco in Ligue 1, won trophies under Mourinho at Porto, Chelsea and Real Madrid.
“Jose will have something to prove after what happened at Chelsea,” Carvalho said. “I think he will make Manchester United better and in the next two years they will be champions.
“United have struggled since Ferguson retired but Jose can be the one to replace him.
“He is a great coach and now he is in a great club — United are one of the biggest in the world.
“I have no doubt he can bring trophies back to United again and that he will make them champions.
“I don’t know if it will be in the first year, the second year or the third, but Mourinho will win the title again. My prediction is that it will be in the second year.”
