Ireland is Liverpool, the midlands is United with pockets of Arsenal resistance in Cork, Tipp and Mayo

The map was created by examining the official Twitter accounts for each team and using their followers as an indicator of allegiance.
The overall breakdown in Ireland is along expected lines: Liverpool (25.65%), Man United (23.20%) and Arsenal (11.86%).
Using sociological and demographic intuition, we can probably break that down further into 35-50 year-olds (Liverpool); 20-40 year-olds (Man United) and a small alliance of 40-somethings sold on the Brady-O’Leary-Stapleton axis and a 20-something band of Wenger disciples.
We shall assume that each of these brackets has commendably managed to bring their offspring along with them.
But the Twitter map has offered further insight.

By and large, Liverpool (indicated by green) is the dominant force across the land, which would account for the our high national umbrage levels.
Cork city, as you’d expect, is United (red) through and through, though it is no surprise that hotbeds of rebellion and independent thinking such as North Cork and South Tipp would provide a pocket of Arsenal (yellow) loyalty.
And the south Mayo crowd, having suffered enough on the sporting famine front, were smart enough to get off that Liverpool bandwagon a long time ago, though they may have some regrets at opting for Arsenal to provide them with some solace.
The Dubs, like their spiritual figurehead Bertie, are United. So is Limerick. And there is a bold strip of United allegiance stretching through the midlands like a bad road.
But overall, whatever Guinness want you to think, this is Liverpool Country. Something to remember when you’re cribbing about RTE’s match choice on Champions League night.
Or 3e’s on Thursday night anyway.
