Bohs blitz minnows

Bohemians eased into the 3rd round of the FAI Ford Cup, easily disposing of Ulster Senior League side Drumkeen United at Dalymount Park.

David Scully scored a hat-trick for The Gypsies, with the other goals coming from Roberto Lopes and Dave Mulcahy. Drumkeen finished with ten men after James Ratiff was sent off for two bookable offences.

Only 55 seconds had passed when Bohs took the lead. Derek Pender provided the pass for Scully to shoot past Paul McAuley in the Drumkeen goal.

Bohs doubled their lead on 24 minutes when Lopes sent a low drive into the net after Drumkeen failed to clear.

Ward nearly put Bohs further ahead on 59 minutes but his shot from distance hit the crossbar.

Scully headed in his second of the night on 66 and completed his hat-trick with a close range shot on 77.

Ratiff was sent off after receiving his second yellow card on 78 minutes and Mulcahy’s solo effort and shot into the roof of the net rounded off the scoring on 86 minutes.
