Montpellier was a ‘no brainer’ for Tomás O’Leary

Ten days since Tomás O’Leary first landed in the Languedoc region for a four-month tour of duty with Montpellier and the 33-year-old scrum-half must feel as if his feet are yet to really find terra firma.

Less than 24 hours into his new French adventure and he was receiving calls from home with the shocking news his old teammate, coach and friend Anthony Foley had passed away overnight in Paris.

Cue what he described as a “mad”, “tough” week.
