Greyhound racing: New committee will liaise with regulators over exporting of dogs

New regulations introduced with regard to the export of dogs to other EU member states have been causing real concern to people in the greyhound industry and, in response to that, a meeting of many affected was held at Horse And Jockey Hotel last Wednesday night.
There were circa 60 people in attendance and it was unanimously agreed that a public meeting should be called in order to elect a committee to represent all stakeholders in the industry.
The purpose of the committee in the short term is to liaise with the IGB/ICC and Department of Agriculture in relation to the recent implementation of the regulations, but also to be in a position to deal with other issues which may arise in the future.
All greyhound enthusiasts and stakeholders are encouraged to attend the meeting which will take place in the Horse And Jockey Hotel next Wednesday, February 25, at 7pm.
