Ó Lionáin-inspired Ring back in senior grade

After an absence of four years, Ring regained their Waterford senior hurling status for 2013 with a runaway victory over Portlaw in a one sided IHC final at Fraher Field yesterday.

Dominant in every area of the field, Ring were not at all flattered by their 13-point margin.

Man of the match Liam Ó Lionáin goaled after seven minutes and they were already home and hosed when they led 1-8 to 0-3 at the interval.

Even with the assistance of the wind of the turnover Portlaw continued to toil and the single point they registered from Paul Power free was the ultimate indictment of a dismal display.
