The Cavan man, who refereed the 2011 All-Ireland final, also took charge of the game between the counties in this year’s league in Omagh in March when Michael Murphy and Neil Gallagher were sent off for second yellow card offences.

Marty Duffy will take charge of the Galway v Mayo game in Pearse Stadium tomorrow week, while, on the same afternoon, Maurice Deegan, last year’s All-Ireland referee, officiates in the Cavan v Armagh Ulster opener.

Michael Duffy, Marty’s brother, will be the referee for the Cork v Limerick Munster quarter-final on May 25 while Cork’s Conor Lane takes charge of the Kerry v Tipperary game the day after.

June 1: Kildare v Offaly (Rory Hickey, Clare); Dublin v Westmeath/Carlow (Eddie Kinsella, Laois). June 2: Derry v Down (David Coldrick, Meath). June 9 – Antrim v Monaghan (David Gough, Meath).
