Joe Gallagher was the Kiladangan hero, scoring a goal in either half in a comfortable 2-16 to 0-13 win over Killenaule.

Former Tipp keeper Darragh Egan also added five points from centre-forward and linked play superbly, overshadowing his opposite number John “Bubbles” O’Dywer, who was untypically out of sorts, scoring just three points from frees.

Gallagher’s goals were crucial. Early on he fielded well and drove home from close range. And he repeated the trick in the 50th minute as Kiladangan coasted home.

In the first match, Ritchie Ruth’s 42nd minute goal sealed Sarsfields’ passage to a seventh final in 10 years. They beat Clonoulty-Rossmore 1-22 to 0-15.

Former Tipp player Timmy Hammersley scored 10 points for Clonoulty but missed a 47th-minute penalty and they also had Sean Maher dismissed for a wild pull on Padraic Maher.

Pádraic and Ronan Maher were superb for Sars, providing the base from which their team prospered.

Pa Bourke hit six points and Stephen Cahill contributed five from midfield in a game that was over long before the final whistle.
