Kenmare’s forward power leaves Adare on the ropes

Adare (Limerick) 1-8 Kenmare (Kerry) 1-20: A quality display by Kerry champions Kenmare meant this Munster club intermediate football final was as good as over at half-time in Mallow, Co Cork, yesterday.
Kenmare’s forward power leaves Adare on the ropes

Limerick’s Adare gave a good account of themselves, but had to bow the knee to a slick Kerry outfit. Up front, in particular, Kenmare showed their class, with their full- forward line of Sean O’Shea, Paul O’Connor, and Stephen O’Brien helping themselves to the vast majority of the scores. O’Shea, O’Connor and O’Brien would grace any senior club team, and at a grade below that were nigh on irresistible.

Adare donned the green of Limerick and defended the clubhouse end in the first half, opening with a first-minute free from Hugh Bourke. The same man added another point from a similar position two minutes later and Adare looked to have settled to their task.
