Tipperary officials have been informed the system will be “ready to go for the championship” and could be primed for the Division 1 semi-finals if they are fixed for Thurles on April 17. Failing that, Semple Stadium could stage the May 1 final — it has hosted eight of the last 11 NHL deciders.

The score detection technology was used in a non-live capacity for the Tipperary hurlers’ three Allianz League home games against Dublin, Waterford and last weekend’s visit of Cork. It was also trialled in the Na Piarsaigh-Oulart-the-Ballagh All-Ireland club SHC semi-final last month.
