Jim Gavin accepts that players on both sides crossed the line at times in yesterday’s drawn encounter, but he kept his counsel on individual incidents and whether or not an appeal would be launched against Diarmuid Connolly’s red card.

Connolly walked towards the end after an off-the-ball incident with Lee Keegan that earned a yellow for the Mayo defender, but no footage emerged initially to highlight what prompted those calls from referee Joe McQuillan.

“I’ll have to have a look at it,” said Gavin. “It would be very unfair of me to comment. Joe made the decision based on whatever information he received. He made that call, as he did for the black cards and some other cards that might not have been given. We’ll have to have a look at all those.”
