Authorities probe racial abuse claim
Clann na nGael have lodged a complaint with the Coiste na nÓg board over the alleged racial abuse of one of their players during the county U16 C semi-final against Grenagh.
The Clann na nGael management pulled their players from the field 17 minutes into the second half of the fixture at Kilmichael, claiming racial comments had been repeatedly directed at one of their players.
The club emailed their complaint to the board of Coiste na nÓg board on Sunday night and Cork GAA children’s officer Marc Sheehan yesterday confirmed the incident is “under investigation”.
“The incident has been brought to the attention of Coiste na nÓg who are dealing with it through the proper channels,” he said.
The referees report is expected to be scrutinised by the Coiste na nÓg Competition Controls Committee tonight.
