First time blinkers can have the desired effect on Brushed Aside

DERMOT WELD can warm up for Cheltenham by saddling Brushed Aside to land the ATR Festival Focus Fillies Maiden, at what is sure to be a less than packed Dundalk tonight!

In truth the daughter of Oasis Dream never lived up to the promise she showed when catching the eye big-time on her debut, fourth at the Curragh in July.

The selection ended her juvenile days on this track in October when a close third behind Daliyra and Shirley Blake.

There’s no doubt Brushed Aside has a bit to prove, but Weld now puts the blinkers on for the first time and they can have the desired effect.

The Rock Of Gibraltar colt made a decent start at Fairyhouse in September, fourth in the contest won by hot-pot, In Some Respect.

Emmpat, now a 12-year-old, is far from a back number and can run a big race in the Barry Geraghty On attheraces.com Handicap. Charlie Swan’s veteran was beaten two lengths into second by Bashkirov (rec. 5lbs) at Dundalk last month and is fancied to reverse the placings on these revised terms.
