Brennan ban expires
Brennan, 38, won two Heineken Cup winner’s medals with Toulouse but has not played since 2007, when he retired from the sport following an altercation with an Ulster fan during a European pool game.
He was initially banned for life after he was found guilty of misconduct by Heineken Cup organisers ERC after entering a seating area in the stadium and repeatedly striking Ulster supporter Patrick Bamford but that was reduced to a five-year suspension following an appeal.
That suspension ends today and while resuming a playing career at the age of 38 appears to be beyond Brennan, he is free once more to earn a living in the sport. The Irishman owns two successful bars in Toulouse and started a sports travel operator, Trevor Brennan Rugby Tours, in 2010.
