Quality puts Summerfields homes with large gardens cut above rest

THE good thing about the Summerfields estate is the small size of the development and the large size of the gardens, says selling agent, Liz Hannon of Cobh.

And she is enthusiastic about the quality of the build, too, citing the previous good work of local developer, Alan Bardsley.

That matters in a town as cohesive as Cobh and, after all, the builder has to live with his creation.

In this case, he needn’t worry, she says, as the scheme is shaping up to be one of the nicest in town.

Designed by Roderick Hogan and Associates and located close to Cobh Hospital, this mixed scheme is in its second phase with just 12 units left to sell.

In what would have been regarded as the country at one stage, development in the Cork harbour town has crept outwards and the area is no longer so rural.

Summerfields has just 36 houses in total, from detached properties to two bed bungalows and all else in between. This time round, English Auctioneers are selling 12 units ranging from four-bed semis to three-bed townhouses.

The largest house type on offer is the B, which comes with 1,244 square feet of space, and has a guide price of €375,000. There are just three of these four-beds on offer.

Next up is the three-bed semi with 1,070 sq ft, and five are available at €325,000: one unit with a larger garden will sell for a little bit more, says the agent.

Finally, there are a choice of end and mid-terrace townhouses at €315,000 and €325,000 and each has 925 sq ft in a small, stepped arrangements.

All of the houses come with zoned gas heating and PC sums for kitchens, wardrobes and fireplaces.

On the Ballyleary Road, Summerfield is a walk to town and has schools and supermarkets close by.
