AS our ministers and TD’s head off to enjoy their fully-paid, over-extended summer holidays, spare a thought for the thousands of dogs and puppies who will spend another summer incarcerated in hell holes of unregulated puppy farms throughout our "emerald isle".
Denied the most basic access to fresh air and freedom, and certainly never knowing any love or care the neglect and suffering of these animals is shameful.
It is an indictment of our new government, who it appears are similar to their colleagues in Fianna Fáil in their indifference to the abuse of animals that the breeding and welfare bills are still gathering dust in the Dáil.
