Human rights

Tuesday, February 14, 2012

If those who are so critical of Israel were equally noisy about the Arab attacks on Christians in the Arab and general Muslim world, I could believe they are interested in human rights.

However, as one ambassador wrote to his home government in 1973, Jews have been pushed around for two millenia and are not prepared to be so any more.

Second, it escapes too many that in the Middle East one’s religion is nationality or ethnicity.

When the Arabs and Israeli Jews see Irish Catholics and other Europeans letting Arab mobs ethnically clear Christian shopkeepers and molest Christian women, all without protests, then they know they can behave beyond international and private law as they wish.
