Higher starting salary for British university lecturers

At the USI conference, outgoing president Garry Redmond claimed that “a lecturer starting in Ireland would earn many multiples of what a lecturer starting in the UK would”.

The starting salary for a lecturer working in a university in the Republic is €36,230. The equivalent in the UK is £37,012, which translates into €44,788.
