Blair’s peace role

Monday, September 06, 2010

ARE Edward Horgan and his colleagues of the Peace and Neutrality Alliance (Letters, August 31) so prejudiced as to forget the positive role played by Tony Blair in three other military/diplomatic ventures which resulted in ridding us of the scourge of Provo IRA violence in the North or helping to solve the Balkan war imbroglio, or dealing with the murderous gangster warlords in Sierra Leone.

We should never forget the cat-and-mouse games that the tyrant Saddam Hussein, the murderer of thousands of Kurds, played with the UN before he lured the civilised world into war, just as the present leader or Iran is doing.
