Man forced to flee blaze on vessel in Cork harbour

A man on board a rib in Cork harbour this afternoon had to escape from the vessel when its engine caught fire.

The man managed to get onto a nearby vessel when the incident happened near Spike Island shortly after lunchtime.

The fire has since been put out, according to Valentia Coastguard, who received notification of the incident.

Nobody has been injured.
