Irish man dies following reported drowning in Spain 

It is reported that the man was found unresponsive in a swimming pool in Mabella.

An Irish man has passed away in what is believed to be a swimming incident in Spain.

He was found unresponsive in a holiday home swimming pool yesterday morning.

Police and paramedics were called out at 10.25am yesterday.

They tried to revive him, but he was declared dead at the scene.

The matter is not being treated as suspicious at the moment.

It is believed that man was in his 20s.

The Department of Foreign Affairs said it is aware of the case.

A spokesperson added that the Department is providing consular assistance.
