UCC is considering offering dedicated “quiet housing blocks” for students after three people signed up for its new, alcohol-free accommodation.

College authorities said they were happy with the response as the three candidates enter the final phase of taking up residence in UCC’s first, dedicated, booze-free units in the college-run Victoria Lodge complex at Victoria Cross.

They will meet each other and will then have to sign a contract agreeing to adhere to the alcohol regulations.
