Three US tourists hurt as car flips over in Cork city crash

The Opel Astra, a rental car, ended up on its side. A number of fire brigades and ambulances attended the scene. GardaĂ from Watercourse Road garda station were also in attendance.
Itâs understood one of the three occupants of the car managed to free themselves, but cutting equipment was required to assist the remaining two. They were taken by ambulance to hospital where their injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
A garda spokesperson said the three tourists were American nationals of Chinese origin. The accident took place at 2.30pm outside Chanâs Chinese takeaway. A worker in Chanâs said the damaged parked car belonged to him. Itâs thought the three tourists were due to return to America tomorrow.
