The house, a short distance from the Trump International Golf Links at Doonbeg and the Burren, is understood to be the most inexpensive family home on sale in Ireland.

The detached 101sq m property at Brisla East in Cooraclare near Kilrush, just 30km from the Cliffs of Moher, goes under the hammer with a €10,000 reserve later this month with Allsop Auctioneers.

It is reported to be in good condition and has a sizeable garden.

Website daft.ie says the average asking price for a house in Clare is €149,999.

Local Elaine Tubridy said: “I’m shocked at the price. €10,000 is nothing to pay for a house. No matter what state the house might be in, it’s an incredible bargain.”

There are currently six other properties for sale in the Cooraclare area, with prices ranging from €60,000 for a one-bed house to €280,000 for a five-bed house.
