Refreshing blend of posers on applied maths

Most of the 2,000 Leaving Certificate applied maths students took the higher level papers, which had a refreshing blend of new-style problems.

That was the opinion of Association of Secondary Teachers Ireland (Asti) subject spokesperson Christy Maginn, who said it also had variations on some more familiar themes.

Students who persevered with questions on projectiles and differential equations would have managed very well.
