More advanced technology required

Changes in how people live their lives, the difficulty in following targets through busy urban settings, and the limited availability of personal records mean private investigators are having to deploy more advanced technology to deliver evidence or protect their clients.

Along with cameras that can provide picture perfect identifications from several hundred metres, secret cameras attached to phones or clothing can also deliver video proof of a person’s activities.

However, because of increased suspicion among celebrities or corporations, and a desire to protect their privacy, the nature of the private investigation business has adapted.

Along with equipment designed to obtain information there are devices available to monitor for tracking devices, sweep for bugs and prevent efforts to illicit information. Bug detection has been one of the most significant growth areas for Mr Brady’s investigation business over the past two decades.
