Irish Water in recruitment drive despite uncertainty over its future

Irish Water is in the middle of a 10-week recruitment drive despite uncertainty on its future and an ongoing row over whether charges can be legally scrapped.

The company has sought to boost its workforce with 46 positions since January, most of them highly skilled and senior posts.

Coming just days after leaked Irish Water legal advice claimed its charging system cannot be cancelled, it has emerged the firm is offering fixed-term contracts varying from six months, one year, 15 months, and two years, and other permanent roles.
