The volume of houses being sold is increasing across the country — except in Laois where it continues to fall.

In Co Cork 3,168 houses were sold last year, a 16% increase on 2012. In Co Galway, it was even higher with a 32% hike.

Co Kerry saw a 15% rise in house sales with the highest rate of transactions in Killarney.
