Electric Ireland sends letter to 'The Occupant' of Killiney Graveyard

It’s a spooky thing to get a message from the grave, but the good people at Electric Ireland want the dead to start paying for the electricity they don’t use.
Even the dead need an electricity supply and they need to register in order to get the best supply on offer.
Electric Ireland sent a letter to “The Occupant” of Killiney Graveyard, Castlegregory, Co Kerry advising that their records show there is no customer at the registered address.
“To ensure that the electricity supply remains connected, you will need to register with us. To do this, simply telephone us on 1850 372 372 (Monday-Saturday, 8am-8pm).
“We look forward to hearing from you and providing you with the best possible service. Please note, a visit by a Networks Technician will incur a minimum charge of €70.00 + Vat.”
It’s not clear if Electric Ireland received a response but one thing is for certain, Electric Ireland are onto a winner if they can pry a cool €70 out of every graveyard occupant in the country.
Spare a thought for the postman. Broadsheet.ie said the poor man was “distressed” trying to find who he should deliver the letter to.
