Committee expenses

The two dozen committee members at County Cork VEC clocked up a larger expenses bill in 2008 than its teachers.

The financial statements for CCVEC show that in 2008, the members were paid a total of €91,425 compared with €102,625 in the previous year.

The travel and expenses of teachers, which covers travel between classes and other necessary trips, came to €82,595 compared with €101,298 in 2007.

The chief executive, education officer, adult education officers and office staff in headquarters claimed €90,996 in 2008.
