PIC: Hilary Clinton weighs in on heartbreaking viral Facebook photo
The photo was taken by Humans of New York photographer Brandan Stanton. It shows a boy crying on a city stoop accompanied by the caption: "I'm homosexual, and I'm afraid about what my future will be and that people won't like me."
Two hours after the photo was posted, Hilary Clinton posted a comment beneath the photo. She wrote:
"Prediction from a grown-up: Your future is going to be amazing. You will surprise yourself with what you're capable of and the incredible things you go on to do. Find the people who love and believe in you - there will be lots of them."
The comment was signed off, "- H", indicating the that the presidential candidate wrote it herself, rather than a member of her campaign team.
Right now the comment has over 71,000 'Likes'and the photo has been shared almost 60,000 times since Friday.
Clinton had shown her support for the LGBTQ community one week earlier following the Supreme Court's rulling that same-sex marriage should be legal in all 50 US states.
Proud to celebrate a historic victory for marriage equality—& the courage & determination of LGBT Americans who made it possible. -H
