Peter from Oklahoma had applied for the position of Data Centre Facilities Technician, when his sister passed away three days before his scheduled phone interview with the company.

After hearing she had died, Google sent out a hand written note to Peter offering their condolences because "an email just didn't suffice."

Peter added his letter to social media site imgur after saying he was "truly touched by the gesture" and it has racked up nearly half a million views since.

The letter was also posted on Reddit, with users wondering how Peter's interview had gone after his awful loss.

Peter revealed later on the site that Google had offered him a position and he is considering his options for now as he still likes his current job.
