Irish Examiner's front page tribute to David Bowie makes global tribute shortlist

The death of David Bowie sent the world into collective mourning with newspapers around the world paying homage with special front page tributes.

As part of their coverage one of America's biggest websites, BuzzFeed, put together a collection of those pages and we are delighted to say the Irish Examiner front page tribute is proudly flying the flag for Ireland as one of the shortlisted 17.

The tribute depicts different images of Bowie representing his constant change of style. The picture includes many of his famous looks and characters from Ziggy Stardust right up to his depiction of Lazarus in what was to be his final single.

One of his most striking characters, Aladdin Sane, takes pride of place in the centre.
