Finnish millionaire gets €54k speeding fine, threatens to leave country
The Iltalehti newspaper reports that Reima Kuisla's fine last week was in accordance with his earnings from 2013 which amounted to €6.5m, based on his tax return.
Reima is not happy with his €50,024 fine and is threatening to leave the country.
Despite his wealth, the businessman has vented his anger at the fine on Facebook.
"I would have thought 10 years ago that I should seriously consider moving abroad," he wrote on March 1.
"Finland is an impossible country no longer (liveable) for certain kinds of people with large incomes and wealth!"
Since his first post, Mr Kuisla has posted a series of politically motivated messages to the Finnish government over its traffic violation rules.
He said: "Finland must be accompanied by other EU states in the legislative process and amend the traffic rules immediately to at least match up to the average penalties of other legal and civilised states."
Mr Kuisla been getting little sympathy from his fellow Finns on social media.
One commenter on the Iltalehti website said: "If you follow the rules you won't have to pay fines."
Another person said: "He should stop complaining and hang his head in shame instead. Small fines won't deter the rich - fines have to 'bite' everyone the same way."
